Lorenzo Schipp is the Chief Instructor of the New Mexico Judo Institute.  A German native, Lorenzo has won championships at the local, state, regional, national and international levels.  He has also coached Judo in Germany, at the University of New Mexico, in Lake City, Colorado, and at Sandia Judo.

Lorenzo believes it is important for students to learn the physical skills involved in Judo, and equally valuable to preserve the traditions of Judo.  Lorenzo hopes that his students will learn the art of self-defense, develop their bodies and spirits, and acquire the poise, discipline, and self confidence necessary to meet life’s challenges.  In addition, students will be encouraged to connect with their community and take pride in representing their community as athletes.

The New Mexico Judo Institute welcomes persons of all ages, fitness levels, and skill levels - whether their interests are in competing, coaching, refereeing, staying physically and mentally fit, connecting with their community, or building bridges to different cultures.
